So as it turns out, my last name is actually Matter and my distant grandfather, Jacob Matter changed our name to Matthers in 1850. There’s a theory that we may have something to do with the Matterhorn in Switzerland, and during the semi ice age of the 16th century, we moved to the farmlands of Alsace, France, from Switzerland. This is cool.
